Do you take pride in the photo’s you use for your blog posts? Well, you should.
My favorite photo sharing app is, of course, Instagram! Up until now, I have solely used the photo sharing app for personal use. Then, it dawned on me. Why not take advantage of giving my writer website and blog another place to shine in the social realm.
I recently started using Canva a free photo editing tool to enhance and make my blog posts pop. Let me tell you something, it makes a world of difference and makes me feel like a stand out blogger. It makes me proud to display my posts, not that I was not proud of my writing before, this just adds a more polished look to everything.
I got to thinking why not use Instagram to not only showcase images, but also promote my blog, website, and content?
So I dove in, and I started doing.
How to use Instagram to promote yourself or your brand
I’ll explain how to post your blog photos to Instagram, the way I did it.
Since Instagram is a mobile app and you cannot do posts on their website just yet, you need to get your photos from your Mac or PC to your mobile device.
Read on and get to it!
- Gather the images from your blog posts and upload them to your photo library on your Mac or PC.
- Sync, your photos to your mobile device, to share on Instagram.
- Open your Instagram app.
- Choose the photo you wish to display.
- Resize to fit the screen, if needed and select next.
- Choose a filter and a frame, if you wish.
- Add your #hashtags. (#blog, #yourblogname, #blogtitle, #websitename etc.)
That is all there is to it. I know this seems like a lot of work is involved. It can take up a small chunk of your valuable time, but this is going to benefit you in the long run by getting your name out there to an even bigger audience.
Now I have to admit this is my first promo for my blog using Instagram, but I think this can help drive traffic to my blog and website as well as promote my content. So, I hope it works for you too.
I hope this has been a helpful and useful guide. Please let me know how and, if this works for you!
